Kjell Hansson Mild has been working at the Swedish National Institute for Working Life from 1976 until it was closed in 2007. He has also held a position as adjunct professor at Oerebro University.
He is now at the University of Umea, Department of Radiation Physics. He has been doing research on bioeffects of electromagnetic fields on as well cellular levels as animal models and human studies He has been involved in research on effects of mobile telephony for the last 10 years.
His background is physics and theoretical physics, and presented his thesis in 1974 on problems on cell membrane and the state of water in the cytoplasm. His publication list comprises over 270 scientific papers and 180 conference abstracts. He was the first person from Europe to serve on the board of the Bioelectromagnetics Society and was President from 1995 to 1996. He has also served as associate editor for more then 10 years for the journal Bioelectromagnetics. He is presently a board member of the European Bioelectromagnetics association, EBEA. He was up 2008 chairman of the Commission K of the Swedish National Committee for Radio Science, which is the national part of the international URSI.
