Alastair McKinlay PhD

Until his retirement in April 2009, Alastair McKinlay was Head of the Physical Dosimetry Department at the United Kingdom Health Protection Agency's Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards.

Alastair was a Main Commission Member of the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) from its inception in 1992 until 2004, its Vice-chairman from 1996 to 2000 and was Chairman of ICNIRP from 2000 to 2004. He was a founding member and is immediate past President of the European Society of Skin Cancer Prevention (EUROSKIN): Past member of the Programme Management Committee of the UK Mobile Telephone Health Research (MTHR) Programme: And of the International Advisory Committee of the WHO EMF Project and has served on WHO Health Risk Assessment Panels on ultraviolet radiation, static fields and extremely low frequency fields.
